IC&RC ANNOUNCES UPDATED CLINICAL SUPERVISOR (CS) JOB ANALYSIS

This is the process that directly links an examination score to a specific job and ensures that an exam is valid, reliable, and legally defensible. To stay relevant to current trends and practices, a JA must be updated every 5-7 years. Apply via IC&RC global head office.

CHANGES TO THE ADVANCED ALCOHOL AND DRUG COUNSELOR (AADC) EXAMINATION

Since June of 2008, the AADC examination has included a long case study – this will be eliminated from the AADC examination effective September 1, 2017 and will be replaced with multiple small vignettes about 1-2 paragraphs in length with 3-5 associated examination questions.

IC&RC APPROVES PEER RECOVERY CREDENTIAL

In 2011 at the 30th anniversary meeting of IC&RC, the Board of Directors approved two levels of Peer Recovery Support credential for alcohol and other drugs, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. The domains were set as: Advocacy, Mentoring/Education, Recovery Support, Ethical Responsibility.
