Fast track, FDAP

After years of struggle, the Federation of Drug & Alcohol Practitioners announced that it would close in January 2017. Where does that leave its members? Perhaps with a better option: ‘gold standard’ accreditation recognised in over 25 countries.

It is harder to gain but thus more prestigeous. And a groundbreaking window of opportunity is being developed in the UK for FDAP members to smoothly join IC&RC’s 50,000 global members. To start, you can download the IC&RC UK Fast track form.

Since 1981, the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium – IC&RC – protected the public by establishing standards and facilitating reciprocity for professionals since 1981. Today, IC&RC represents over 50,000 certified professionals from 78 credentialing and licensing boards worldwide whose reciprocal agreements cover 25 countries, 47 US and territories, and three branches of the US military. Professionals who hold eligible certifications or licences can transfer them between these jurisdictions.

Quality and integrity are the visible foundation of IC&RC’s work. Its products use the latest research on evidence-based practices, and they are updated every five years and subjected to an extensive process of peer review. This is why clients and employers trust the qualification in professionals they seek to work with. Click for our code of ethics.

Displaying your certificate prominently and using the logo on professional materials can help you gain greater professional recognition, enhance your reputation and confirm your proficiency.

IC&RC UK credentials include Alcohol and Drug Counsellor (ADC) soon followed by Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP).  IC&RC worldwide credentials include Alcohol and Drug Counsellor (ADC), Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counsellor (AADC), Clinical Superviser (CS), Prevention Specialist (PS), Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP), Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP), Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional Diplomate (CCDPD) and Peer Recovery (PR).

IC&RC standards and exams are used exclusively by IC&RC Boards, with each Board independently run within their own jurisdictionally specific processes. If you want to take an exam or earn a credential, contact the board in your jurisdiction. If you live or work in the UK and Europe, you are already on the right website!

To facilitate FDAP full members (NCAC) after its closure, special arrangements have made to welcome you to IC&RC UK and Europe and make the transition easier than it has ever been. Full and affiliate members are welcome, as are friends. Details of how to upgrade are below and you can start by downloading IC&RC UK Fast track form.
